US Navy Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity Contract

Mar 2004
Erosion / Corrosion Coatings for Gas Turbine Engine Compressor Systems

America’s Phenix receives five-year, Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) SBIR Phase III contract valued up to $12M for the application of erosion / corrosion resistant coatings for gas turbine engine compressor systems.  AP works directly with MDS-PRAD Technologies (MPT) Corporation in efforts directly related to transitioning the MPT developed erosion resistant coatings to fleet engines.

EDO Corporation Contract Nov 2003

Foreign Comparative Testing Evaluation of Russian-developed

High Temperature Coating for Gas Turbine Engines

America’s Phenix receives contract from the EDO Corporation to support the test and evaluation of a high-temperature coating for turbine nozzles and vanes developed by the Ural Works of Civil Aviation (PRAD) of Ekaterinburg, Russia.  This effort directly supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Foreign Comparative Test initiative to evaluate and transition foreign technologies to U.S. Military applications.

US Navy SBIR Phase II Contract Oct 2002

Erosion / Corrosion Coatings for Gas Turbine Engine Compressor Systems

America’s Phenix receives 30-month, $1M SBIR Phase II contract from NAVAIR for the further development of corrosion / erosion coatings for gas turbine compressor systems.   AP directly supports MDS-PRAD Technologies (MPT) Corporation of Montreal, Canada in coating development efforts for application on the following gas turbine engines:  the T64 for the CH-53 helicopter, the T58 for the CH-46 helicopter, the T700 for the SH-60 helicopter, the T56 for USAF and Navy aircraft and the AE1107 for the V-22 tiltrotor.

US Navy SBIR Phase I Contract Dec 2001

Erosion / Corrosion Coatings for Gas Turbine Engine Compressor Systems

America’s Phenix receives contract for the development of corrosion / erosion resistant coatings for gas turbine engine compressor systems.  AP partners with the erosion resistant coating developer, MDS-PRAD Technologies (MPT) Corporation of Montreal, Canada, in further developing erosion resistant coating for direct application on the T64 engine for the CH-53 helicopter.

US Navy SBIR Phase I Contract May 1999
Gas Turbine Hot Section Parts Innovative Non-Destructive Inspection Systems Research

America’s Phenix, Inc., teamed with Gryphon Technologies and Bayesian Systems, received contract to demonstrate non-destructive inspection techniques of gas turbine engine hot section parts.  The team developed a prototype decision support tool employing Bayes Theorem or the Bayes Engine™ as an innovative Non Destructive Inspection (NDI) methodology for reworking F404 turbine Nozzle Guide Vane (NGV) segments at the Naval Engine Airfoil Center (NEAC) located at the Naval Air Depot (NADEP), Cherry Point, NC.  The Team quantified the associated risk in reworking an NGV segment based on available engine usage and part rework data.  The key element of the Team's project was the application of the Bayes Engine to existing NDI techniques in order to improve process efficiency and, hence, lower the total cost of ownership to the operator.
